The Mute Boston bag has been trending for days now, and with good reason. Though the Bangtan Boys are on an extended break for the holidays, their content is still the top trend on social media platforms. On New Year’s Eve, Big Hit Music had announced that BTS members will release self-designed merchandise, and their collections are being revealed now, one after the other.
Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V, has released his collection, which, staying true to his artistic persona, is called “Vante.” The star released a leather bag featuring a palette of his favorite colors and also launched a special multi-purpose ‘Mute Boston Bag’ alongside a brooch set.
Mute Boston Bag: The pallete
The bag is classic brown and has a white and red floral satin ribbon tied to the handles. It also comes with detachable long straps for those who would like to use it as a crossbody bag, making it multipurpose and extremely versatile.
After the revelation, ARMY couldn’t stop admiring V’s magnificent piece. This self-designed bag was the one piece that perfectly resembled and reflected V’s personal style – the fans could easily catch that.
Setting new records
V’s line was launched on January 11, but according to social media, the bag sold out in less than five seconds. What was even more shocking was how quickly the sold-out bag was being advertised on reselling sites at highly inflated rates.
Earlier this month, pajama sets and pillows designed by Kim Seokjin, and joggers and wind chimes designed by Kim Namjoon sold out within minutes. Min Yoongi’s necklaces and notepad also met the same fate as it just flew off the shelf.
Mute Boston Bag sells out again
As soon as this bag was out on January 8, BTS ARMY fell in love with it. Fans have taken over the Twitter-verse, calling the bag ‘expensive’ but ‘totally worth it!’.
It was to nobody’s surprise that this collection – especially the bag – has sold out not once, but twice, and that too, in pre-order. Fans are taking to Twitter to express their grief and are requesting another renewal.

BTS V’s self-designed bag sold out so fast, not even Lea Salonga could cop it
BTS has made a name for themselves in the fashion industry, so it comes as no big surprise that they’re launching self-designed garments and accessories as part of their artist-made collection. But well-made merch is a blessing and a curse for a fandom as big as ARMY. Less than a minute after V’s Mute Boston Bag went on sale today, Jan. 11, it got sold out. Hybe, we’re in need of a restock pronto.
Prior to the launch, V’s collection was already in high demand. The self-designed collection includes a leather Boston bag with a floral satin ribbon and three brooch sets. In Japan, the collection had already been sold out through pre-orders a day before. Several fans reported that the bag got sold out on the Weverse Shop a second or two after the launch.
A number of fans who weren’t lucky enough to get their hands on the merch shared their disappointment. “Sigh…I didn’t make it. The bloodbath was real, everything sold out in less than 1 minute!” tweeted known ARMY Lea Salonga. “So excuse me, I’m just going to cry in a corner to get over this heartbreak.”

The behind-the-scenes making vlogs and product showcases shot by BTS added to the hype. In his vlog, V said about the bag, “Sorry, I wasn’t thinking about ARMY. I was thinking about myself when I designed it. Please look forward to it and I’ll carry it around a lot.” Guess he didn’t expect how much ARMYs were willing to spend for it. The Mute Boston Bag retails for $153.28 (about P7,800). The Cloud Drops and Faces brooch sets cost $32.51 each while the Flower Buddies set is priced at $43.80. All the brooch designs were drawn by V himself.
While the original prices are already pretty high for some ARMYs, a number of resellers have already been reportedly price gouging. Salonga tweeted a video of posts by resellers offering the products for triple the original price. One publication reports that an eBay listing that got taken down tried to resell the Mute Boston Bag for $12,900. Who can blame fans for getting furious at these scalpers?
Before V’s, Hybe released Jin and RM’s respective artist-made collections. The next collection scheduled for release is SUGA’s on Jan. 13.

We are unable to ship to a Korean address, and can only send orders to locations outside of South Korea.
Do you have a forwarding / address rental service?
We are unable to offer an address rental service. As a registered export company, we can only ship items that we have purchased ourselves.
Can I combine orders?
We are able to combine orders, however we cannot combine any more than two. Please email [email protected] with both the order numbers that you would like shipped together.
I’m buying a fragile product. How will it be packaged?
Our team is specially trained in preparing fragile items for international shipping. We keep the item in its original packaging and add our own protection as needed, to minimise the risk of damage during transit.
I need to change my shipping address. How can I do this?
Please email [email protected] with your order number and new shipping address, so that we can update your details on our system.
It is cheaper to choose an unregistered shipping service. May I do so?
All of our shipping methods come with a tracking number. We strive to provide customers with a better and safer service, so we do not offer services that do not provide any tracking numbers.
RETURNS
What is your return policy?
Harumio provides a Korea proxy service and thus, all items sold are non-returnable and non-refundable.
What if my items are damaged upon arrival?
Please contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to assist you.
Is there any warranty on my purchases?
If your item come with a warranty, it must be claimed with the manufacturer. Please email [email protected] for assistance with this. Please note that you may need to ship the product to Korea for repairs.
CUSTOM DUTIES & TAXES
Do I need to pay custom duties / taxes?
Some countries may have import taxes and it is the customer’s responsibility to pay for these taxes (where applicable). Unfortunately, we are unable to advise customers on how much these will be, so please ensure to consult your own country’s import tax policy.
What if I reject or refuse to sign for the packages?
Customers will be charged an amount for the original shipping plus returning fee if the packages are rejected for any reason, except in cases of customs duties and taxes due, in which case we can’t offer any refund at all.
Can you declare my packages at a certain value / as a gift?
We are a registered business in Korea and we operate in accordance to Korean export laws. We do not condone undervaluing/under-declaring the price of the items as that is illegal and will be regarded as smuggling by any countries. Likewise, we are not able to declare items as ‘gifts’ for the sole purpose of avoiding import taxes.
PRODUCTS
Are the books on your store in English or Korean?
All the books available on Harumio are in Korean, with no English language translation, unless otherwise specified in the product description of that item.
How do I know that I’m buying a genuine product?
All our items are 100% authentic and purchased directly from the official Korean suppliers. You can check out our Instagram (@harumiokorea) to see stories from our team visiting stores around Seoul and purchasing items for our customers.
Will an item be restocked?
Unfortunately, as a proxy service we do not receive information from official suppliers on whether they will restock items in the future. However, we do ensure to update our store whenever new stock is released by a supplier. Follow us on our social media to stay updated!
How do I know my Korean shoe size?
Your Korean shoe size is your feet length in centimeters and there is no distinction between men and women for Korean size. Our size chart is for reference only. For the most accurate measurement, you should measure your own feet in cm. Please note that we will not be able to accept returns, exchanges or to refund your order if the wrong size has been purchased.
Can you ship…?
Skincare/Perfumes/Cosmetics – We are able to ship these items, except products that contain alcohol. If you are unsure of an item’s ingredients, please do include it on your Custom Request Form, and we will check it out for you!
Masks – We can now export Masks from Korea.
Furniture – Although it is possible to ship furniture, please be aware that the shipping costs will increase for these items.
Food – We cannot ship any food products which are easily spoiled or require storage at a low temperature e.g. meat, dairy.
I want to buy from a physical store. Do you have an offline service?
We are able to buy products from physical stores, including pop-up shops, in Seoul. Please fill out our Custom Request Form and provide details of the store and items you wish to purchase.
