Ahaha, and yes this follows the Webtoon, I did watch the Netflix Series of it. I feel like the Webtoon is better just to say, well not everyone agrees with me so do whatever, I”m not here to start hating.

I”m here to make oneshots! :”)

Including:

Hyun Cha

Hyuk Lee (Please he is just so fine wooooo-)

Jisu Yoon

Pyeon Wook

Yuri Park

No requesting sorry, I just feel like my work is not good enough just yet! 😛

I guess that”s all, btw your pronouns go by She/Her! in the oneshot book.

Fluff, Angst, Idk maybe smut? 😳 Who knows.

I only write smut for fictional characters, cause writing actual people having the deed is kinda weird if you think about it long enough. :”)

So please bear with me.

#sweet home hyuk lee x reader

mikanotes · 4 months ago Text — indulge. eunhyuk x gn!reader genre: established relationship, angst, comfort warnings: blood, implied suicidal ideation, injuries author’s note: trying a new format finger guns also this was supposed to be way more angsty but i didn’t manage to make it that way so ure welcome? + writer’s block has been annoying me so much so this is basically a draft from a little while ago. hope it’s fine!!! (i dont like it personally but Yay lmao) “eunhyuk… didn’t make it.” that wasn’t something your heart accepted to hear. but that was something your mind registered, understood, despite its reluctance to accept it. however, your heart was out of your control, and that was why your tears slipped before you could hold them back. that was why your blank expression didn’t match how emotionally unwell you were. that was why you always did what you had to do and not what you wanted to do, just like lee eunhyuk always did. you figured, maybe, you could indulge into a thing you wanted, for once in a very long while. you wished you hadn’t been knocked out during your runaway to the bunker— so you would’ve had the opportunity to slap eunhyuk for leaving or, at least, go with him. but no, of course things couldn’t be this good. you had to get a chunk of the breaking building fall on your head and knock you out, only for you to wake up when the group found the exit of the bunker. you didn’t even remember entering it, just a faint memory of eunhyuk carrying you and looking at you with a slight smile. it was rare and you should’ve known then it couldn’t mean any good. but your consciousness left as fast as it came. but now you were awake. so you left. ignoring the shouts of all the people you survived with at green home, you walked away. the military threatened, or well, warned you but you ignored it, and yikyung seemed to be telling them to let you go. you didn’t care for anyone here much— save for eunyu, who was kind of a friend to you despite how similar your were in personality to her brother (she always lightheartedly insulted you about it) and hyunsu, who… was not here. so he didn’t count. you decided eunyu would be fine with everyone else, and that going to check if hyunsu and eunhyuk were still alive was worth the risk of getting killed. so you went to get killed. that is the mindset you walked away with. so you wouldn’t feel as upset if you did get killed. green home’s building wasn’t too far from the spot of the end of the bunker, so the walk wasn’t too long. the sound of your shoes against the gravel and the debris from broken buildings was odd, unfamiliar. you’d gotten lucky enough to manage to stay inside a fairly comfortable building throughout it all, so walking outside while literal monster walked around, destroying things was weird. you didn’t really mind. the silence. the loneliness of it all. it was enjoyable in a way. and no monsters showed up at all. green home didn’t look very well. there was no rooftop to go to anymore, no stairs (none that led to anywhere, at least), no elevator, nothing. your apartment and room was long gone, as well as everything in the formerly well-kept building. you took a deep breath but kept walking. grays, and shades of beige. sand and gravel and rocks and stones. it was so dull. almost tiring to look at. until your eyes caught sight of a trail of blood. fresh blood. without an ounce of hesitation, you followed it, because why wouldn’t you? you followed through the remains of the building, followed through what felt like narrow alleyways but were just walls that fell apart, followed until you found… a body. you dropped to your knees and grabbed the familiar figure you hoped was alive. your hand settled on the red flannel covered shoulder and turned the body over. lee eunhyuk. your hand moved up to his cheek, caressing the rough expanse of his dry, bloodstained skin. yes, blood, all over him. from his nose to his chin, from his temple to his jaw, on his neck and on his arms— blood. but only the trail of his very apparent nosebleed was still fresh— and flowing. he was alive. you allowed a breathy, relieved laugh and smiled. “eunhyuk. wake up.” he didn’t. …not for at least ten minutes or so, rendering you worried about his wellbeing every other minute until you forced yourself to remember that hyunsu took some time to wake up after getting severely injured and maybe that was just it. after all, the nosebleed was a very clear sign of eunhyuk’s turning, which meant he was on the edge of humanity’s cliff— holding onto whatever his mind thought was a tight enough rope. he blinked drowsily and looked at you through broken glasses, brows slowly furrowing in confusion. “[name]?” “yes.” “why are you here?” “for you.” he scowled and sighed, and then sat up with some effort. he ran a hand through his hair and then sniffled. a crease formed between his eyebrows and he brought his fingers up to his nose, slowly confirming that he was (still) bleeding. he bit on his inner lip and looked away, like he didn’t want you to see him like this despite knowing you already did. you exhaled, “what happened?” “i went to get hyunsu but he wouldn’t come. and then i decided to stay.” he said, as calmly as usual. he looked at you with the same emotionless air he usually had on him, “i figured it’d be pointless to go back with you all, considering the state of everything.” “you had a chance.” you said, certain, “that was illogical.” “it was self-indulgent.” he retorted, raising his eyebrows. you would’ve questioned how throwing himself into sure death was self-indulgent in any way, but he was alive and you, too, had thrown yourself into sure death and called it self-indulgent. again, you supposed you were really similar. “it was selfish, too.” you added, “eunyu never looked that sad. and i didn’t even see her for too long.” “is this really about eunyu?” he asked. you chuckled without amusement. “obviously if it had been, i wouldn’t have come here alone.” he sighed and before you could even think of anything, eunhyuk hugged you. you weren’t used to that— despite eight months of dating. he was never really one to initiate physical affection, nor were you, so it was a surprise. pleasant, sure, but a surprise. and despite how warm it felt to have his arms around you, you couldn’t help the chill that ran down your spine. “eunhyuk. you’re not gonna turn.” “… how can you be sure?” so you were right. the sudden embrace was because he thought he would fully turn. and knowing him, and his thought process (which mirrored yours), he probably planned on killing himself before it happened so he wouldn’t hurt anyone. or you. but he would not turn, you were sure of that. “because it seems resilience, strength and a clear goal seem to be the key to staying human. to being a special case.” you said, basing yourself off what you’d seen from hyunsu and uimyeong. “do you have that?” “i can muster it.” he said quietly, “but i don’t want you anywhere near for the next fifteen days. just in case.” “and where do i go?” silence. the wind felt especially cold on your skin, and conveniently enough eunhyuk rubbed your arm and back as the breeze passed. he seemed to ponder over the question for a while before pulling away and looking at you. “we’ll find a pharmacy.” “storage?” “yes.” same thought process. the storage of a pharmacy would be your home for the following fifteen days, for very simple reasons. one being that there was a door with medications and therefore drugs that could only be accessed through a code (with some fidgeting of a tool kit you found, it was easy to change the latter). two being that eunhyuk could stay in that room, locked, in case he fully turned. three being that a pharmacy had everything to patch your wounds up as well as things that were nutritious enough to keep you alright and well for at least a few weeks. a bonus would be that, surprisingly, no one managed to have made it to that pharmacy alive during the time of the apocalypse, rendering it empty of people and monsters— and filled with everything you’d need. and fifteen days were long. especially when you heard him yell and hit the wall while you sat at the other side of the door. it was hard and it was stressful. sometimes you talked to him— asked him what happened for him to stay alive. he’d explain he woke up under the rumble of what remained of the building with nothing more than a few injuries and broken glasses. then, after some effort to get the bricks and all off of him, he managed to get up and make his way over to somewhere else. he’d found a place that looked enough like a shelter for him to survive enough to understand but got another nosebleed on the way, and passed out. sometimes you’d ask to open the door. he would say no. sometimes he told you to run far away from the room, just in case. and you’d come back ten minutes later to see he was fine. and the fifteenth day came. you opened the door with the passcode you’d set. eunhyuk was up and awake. “how are you feeling?” there was a beat of silence that made you fear. but then he smiled, genuine and content. “human.” you smiled in return. “i’m glad to know that.” you said calmly, despite the wave of absolute relief that washed over you. you couldn’t have been happier. perhaps you’d been lucky enough to survive without getting attacked by monsters all this time. maybe you’d step out of the pharmacy and get stabbed by one and think “oh. great.”. but in this moment you didn’t care. eunhyuk was okay. he’d managed it. you figured your concerns were whatever, now, anyways, as before you could even begin to think of anything else you felt something wet on your lips, and saw eunhyuk’s eyes widen. you touched your skin and looked down at your fingers. blood. well. you figured it was your turn to be quarantined. #eunhyuk x reader#lee eunhyuk x reader#eun hyuk x reader#lee eun hyuk x reader#sweet home x reader#im tired of saebyeoked · 9 months ago Note could you write a headcanon or a scenario like dating lee eunhyuk i’m soft for him 🙁 i’ll do a scenario bc i’ve written like one actual piece for a month and i need to write more than just headcanons LOL. lets just pretend that in this eun-hyuk sleeps in the security office. he’s got like a little bedroll or something on the floor 😭 sorry this is short! this is more of a drabble than a full fic but i hope you enjoy it anyways. gender neutral!! 1 in the afternoon — lee eun-hyuk eun-hyuk had so much on his shoulders. you could tell he was stressed from the hunched shoulders and constant furrowed eyebrows, and— as his partner— you wanted to do something to try and cheer him up. it wouldn’t be much, but spending at least some time with him without so much depressing talk going on might make him feel at least somewhat better. it would be a start. you hadn’t been dating for a long time. you had officially gotten together right before the apocalypse happened (it’s still weird, knowing there’s an actual apocalyptic event happening right outside your door), but you had already acted like a couple even before he officially asked you to be his partner. with the recent events, eun-hyuk was put in charge. he was calm and level-headed, able to make quick and rational decisions. he proved himself when a monster from outside almost got into the green home, but he never signed up for it. he spent a lot of his time in the security room close to the daycare. he would spend hours watching the security cameras and contemplate god knows what sitting in there by himself. you couldn’t handle seeing him like this anymore. he suffered in silence. he didn’t want to bring you down with him. what he didn’t understand was how much he truly meant to you, and seeing him under so much pressure made you upset. all you wanted was for him to be able to be open and honest with you about how he was feeling. the door to the security office creaked open and you hesitated before stepping inside. you could only hope that he would be grateful for your presence. you contemplated turning around, but shook your head. you couldn’t turn your back on the man you loved and cared for the most. his back was turned to you and his eyes were glued onto the security camera footage in front of him. he was so focused on the tapes that he didn’t even notice the sound of the door open. “eun-hyuk?” you asked, hoping it would get his attention. he only hummed in response. he was so.. different. it pained you to see him this way. you pursed your lips and took a few steps forward. you grabbed a chair from where you were standing and sat it next to where your boyfriend sat staring at the cameras. “aren’t you tired?” you asked, taking a seat next to him. he shrugged, “not really.” his words told you one thing, but the bags under his eyes told an entirely different story. you grabbed onto one of his hands, which finally grabbed and held onto his attention. “you need to sleep, eun-hyuk.” you told him firmly. you wouldn’t take no for an answer anymore, you told yourself as he looked deep into your eyes. from his expression, he looked calm as he always does. though, in his eyes, you could tell that something was wrong. “you need a break, just like everyone else. just because you were made the de facto leader doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to rest.” you said after a few moments of sitting in silence. he only looked at you, not saying anything else. “please. i’ll stay with you.” he shook his head again. “i have to make sure everything runs smoothly. i can’t take breaks when doing this.” eun-hyuk sounded exhausted, taking deep breaths in-between his sentences. “honey. please.” you begged, your voice getting quieter and quieter with every word. “i’m worried about you. you spend all of your time in here. i know you want to protect everyone, but i want to protect you from yourself.” he doesn’t reply to you, but his body loosens up and he stands from the chair. you can almost hear the cracks of his bones when he does so. you get out of your chair and move closer to him, gently wrapping your arms around his waist as you try to pull him as close to you as possible. you rub calming circles on his back with your palms and nuzzle your face into his chest. he lets out a breath, and he shuts his eyes. “i needed this.” is the only thing he says to you, and you smile as you pull away from the hug. “c’mon. let’s lie down.” he smiles. a real and beautiful smile. your heart aches at the look on his face. it’s the happiest he’s been since the apocalypse started, and you’re glad you could be the cause of it. you tug him over to his makeshift bed in the far corner of the room and he lies down on it, his eyes closing like they did during the hug. though, this time, you climb into his bed next to him and cuddle up against his side, resting your cheek on the palm of your hand as try to look at his face. his cheeks are dusted with a barely noticeable pink, but he has the ghost of a smile etched across his features. “hey, eun-hyuk?” “hm?” “can i kiss you?” you said. “please.” his voice sounded desperate, like he’d been waiting for you to ask the entire time you’d been in the room with him. he sits up and his hands immediately grab onto your waist to pull you closer to him. you don’t kiss him yet, instead you take a moment to admire him and his facial features. he was so beautiful inside and out. he never knew how incredible he was and you could only hope that you were showing him through your words and actions. you kissed him without any hesitancy. he melted into your touch and you wrapped your arms around his neck, kissing him as softly as you could. his entire body was and you can see that you’re actually helping him. he’ll try to pull you closer and eventually pull you onto his lap. he couldn’t hold back his laughter as you kiss him. he hadn’t felt that much joy in so incredibly long that finally experiencing it again felt like a dream come true. you pulled away after a few more moments and he leaned after your lips, eyes still closed as he doesn’t want you to pull away from him yet. “thank you for this.” he spoke after a brief moment of sitting quietly, just silently admiring each other. he would still have his hands resting on your waist, a smile on his lips. “you don’t have to thank me.” you peck his lips. “i’d do anything for you, eun-hyuk. i know you don’t realize how important you are to me but with all of this i just.. i know how you need love.” he didn’t reply but his facial expression says it all. his body tensed up at the mention of the current situation but relaxes after you tangle your hands into his hair. “can we do this again?” you laugh. “of course. now c’mon, love. let’s get to bed.” even if it was 1 in the afternoon, eun-hyuk didn’t care. he was with you, and that was all that mattered. #sweet home#sweet home x reader#sweet home x you#sweet home x y/n#sweet home httpsdohyun · 9 months ago Text 𝗧𝗜𝗟 𝗗𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗛 𝗗𝗢 𝗨𝗦 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧 — lee eunhyuk ❝ is this the only promise you’ll fulfill? ❞ ( SUMMARY; ) — spoiler warning for episode 10! when the military had finally ambushed the apartment, the residents had rushed to the bunker to escape. eunhyuk promised eunyu that he will come back, but you knew that what he said was false, he himself had said that promises were only meant to be broken. ( PAIRINGS; ) lee eunhyuk x reader ( GENRE; ) angst ( WORD COUNT; ) 731 author’s notes ╰► episode 10 made me cry so i couldn’t help but to make a short one shot ╰► slight mention of suicide “I’LL COME BACK SAFELY,” Eunhyuk said while Eunyu held his arm, you looked at the siblings with worry visible in your eyes, you mentally prayed that he wasn’t lying. “You promise?” Eunyu asked hesitantly as Eunhyuk smiled at her and said yes before letting go of her He was lying, you thought while watching his figure slowly disappear. You and Eunhyuk had only dated for 10 months and despite how short you guys have dated, you’ve always caught and noted the things he’d do if he would lie. “Go now- Eunyu, I’ll wait for him here,” You gave her a smile that hid the opposite intentions from the words that had come out from your mouth. Eunyu watched back and forth, from the direction where Eunhyuk went and to you, finally, she walked away which made you let out a stressed sigh. “I’m sorry, Eunyu-ssi,” A sad smile appeared on your face before running to where Eunhyuk had walked away, the only emotions you felt at the moment was fear and worry because no one knows what Eunhyuk could do right now The first destination you thought was the security or daycare- I mean he was always cooped up in that area so you had no doubts that he was there, and you were indeed right There you see him sit on his usual chair. You stopped right in front of the door and watched him grab the headphones, “Eunhyuk,” You called out his name calmly while slowly walking to him, “Y/N? What are you doing her-” You cut his sentence by wrapping your arms around his shoulder “Why did you lie to your sister? Why are you ending your life?” Tears started to form in your eyes as you let your jaw rest atop his head, “I have to, Y/N, I’m infected, If I’ll stay, I might harm you guys and that’s the last thing I want to do,” He sobbed, letting his tears stream on his cheek “Then let’s die together,” “What?” He said in disbelief, you only chuckled before speaking, “Do you remember what you’ve said exactly 9 months ago? We will never separate… only death will do us part,” “Even if we won’t reach our first anniversary… even if we won’t get married… even if we won’t have kids… and even if we won’t grow old together… at least we’d part together,” Tears formed in the corner of your eyes, you tried hard to hold it in as Eunhyuk slowly held your hand and made you sit by the chair that was next to him “Come on now, Y/N, let’s die most romantically,” Eunhyuk joked which made you punch him on the arm, you released out a sign and sat next to him, letting your shoulders rest on his shoulders while he caressed your head Eunhyuk cleared his throat and asked, “If we’re to have a child, what should we name it?” You sighed and said, “If it was a boy, I’d go with Hyuk, but if it was a girl, I’d name it Eunwoo,” You smiled, imagining if you guys had a child. “That sounds nice but I actually wanted twins,” The both of you laughed as the building started to shake Eunhyuk’s smile faltered and turned to you, while you did the same. “I guess this is goodbye,” He smiled but you only shook your head and said, “This isn’t a goodbye, we’ll meet again- maybe in heaven or hell” Eunhyuk only shook his head with a smile before leaning in to kiss you on the lips, one last time. This kiss wasn’t the same as the previous ones you guys had, instead of the sensual or intense one, this one felt meaningful Both of you felt the love through the kiss, the two of you had backed up as the shaking continued to become more intense. Wrapping your hands to his shoulder, you let your head rest on his shoulder as he did the same “Is this the only promise you’ll ever fulfil?” You said while caressing his back, you felt his head nod, “That’s good, at least you kept your promise,” The shaking was already intense enough to shatter the whole building “I love you, Eunhyuk,” “I love you too, Y/N” The both of you squeezed your eyes shut as tears kept releasing on both of your eyes before your mind went blank. #sweet home#lee eun hyuk#lee eunhyuk#sweet home x reader#angst#sweet home fanfiction#lee eunhyuk x reader#fanfiction 302 notes · View notes

you’ve kept in your vocabulary since your early stages in life. a place you resided in permanently, namely with the people you called your family or viewed as your guardians. it’s supposed to be a place that you longed for after stretched hours of work filled with headaches that throbbed in your temples, and feet adorned with blisters from the shoes not yet broken in. when someone were to ask about such a concept, your brain should automatically recall where it was, with an image to accompany the thought. a sense of security from the hectic life you all currently lived. an escape you could say. it’s a word you knew well, and yet it felt like you didn’t know it at all. why would home be filled with glass shattered across the hardwood floors and raised voices muffled through the pillows that pressed against your ears? if such a place was supposed to be what you wished to go back to, why did a sense of dread fill the empty cage of your chest with each step that approached the large door that led to the chaos of the building? it never made sense to you, how your companions could groan during the school day about wanting to return when you would sit and pray for anything to delay your departure from school. what was missing? what was different about the household you grew up in compared to theirs? you asked this question each time you walked along the path familiar to your senses, and yet not one solution entered your mind. you’d end up going about your life as what you called normal, with the same piece of dread and the same cold knob that nipped at your fingertips. your steps would always feel robotic making its way to your bedroom, throwing off the burden of books on your shoulders and allowing yourself to curl within the makeshift blankets and pillows hidden inside your wardrobe. and there you’d stay, until the click of keys near the front door and the pause of silence as your parents came home at the same time could be heard, every day. your eyes would burn holes into the wall as the shouts rung inside your ears, until finally they’d cease and the moon illuminated the sky. and just like the previous night you’d take small steps to the kitchen and eye the pile of glass pieces, before dropping to your knees and carefully piecing the places all together. you’d begin to imagine each piece was your own and the family you were born into, sharp edges breaking the skin as blood dripped down to the floor. it was all the same, and you began to wonder, was your home simply a vase poorly glued together to cover up the cracks that adorned it? you should’ve expected this. there had been so many signs pointing towards the situation after all. the fake smiles stretching your parents lips and the sickingly sweet voices they used when telling you to get in the car. despite wanting to leave that dreaded place any chance you could, it did not mean with the inhabitants that created it to be in the state it was currently in. and yet your tongue felt tied within your mouth when they presented the idea, unable to protest when it felt so desirable. was it the part of you that wished that it would always be like this? going out to present as a family even if it was fake? to allow yourself, even just mere minutes, to pretend that things were fine? the car ride would be silent save for the music you had requested, staring out the window to imagine what little dreams occupied your mind. you’d be wearing your favorite outfit, feet barely brushing the ground while you sat wedged in a seat between both your parents, because god forbid they had to sit next to each other. chills would run down your spine due to the low temperatures that filled the auditorium, the chatter of the audience filling your ears and the glow of soft lanterns that ran across the wall. ‘a performance’, they had answered when your curiosity allowed you this one question. your eyes would squint, trying to read into why they were taking you to such a place all of a sudden and with little to no warning. only enough time to throw on the clothes currently on your body and to tie your shoes and hair inside the car. of course you would be suspicious, your parents only ever did this when they wanted something out of you. instead however, you took this intermission time to take in the room. from the ceiling that could reach up past the sky and the gold intricacies that decorated the borders of the stage and the hooks of the lanterns. drapes dipped in maroon cascaded down the stage, shiny hardwood floors that glistened under the lights. you were sure if you tried you could slide across, with a blanket perhaps to add to the fun. and the drapes looked heavy enough to swing upon, or to hide during a game that seeks. a small tap on your shoulder, erasing the thoughts and a whisper to tell you to quiet down. your attention then directed towards the grand stage in the center of the auditorium, lantern glow dimming and curtains pulling back to reveal the contents behind. due to the dark you couldn’t quite place what was happening, but you leaned forward ever so slightly to squint and better your vision. a flash, bright and blinding that caused you to blink rapidly to adjust to the suddenness of it all. cold fingers wrapped and squeezed your hand far too tightly for your liking, supposed to be a reassured touch and form of excitement from your mother. it took great strength to force down the stiffness of your muscles that wanted to follow, instead allowing an uneasy smile to stretch your lips and face forward to pay attention to the performance. a mixture of cerulean and snow splashed across those same hardwood floors, appearing almost like clouds and you were above it all. the lights that flashed on illuminated the dancers seated on the ground, adorned in pearls and an elegance you wished to possess. they slowly lifted themselves up, a small pause in silence, before the music that had only been background noise began to guide them through the elegance and twirls of fantasy they had created. ribbon and silk flowed and trailed after the airy steps across the snow filled ground, appearing as if the soles graced the clouds and their fingertips brushed the stars. it was truly extraordinary to you, the way each face was composed of expressions of content and euphoria. how each limb moved with grace and painted a picture so vivid and alluring you imagined you were up there yourself, dancing amongst the galaxy and honey filled dreams spilled across the stage. it felt like, for a second, you could feel the stroke of comfort along the apple of your cheeks that’s been absent for so long. the lights dimmed down and the music ceased, leaving several empty seconds before an applause broke out amongst the crowd. your cheeks hurt from the smile that stretched your lips and yet you couldn’t stop, still feeling high above the clouds and as if you could reach beyond. you would hold your mother’s hand after that, swinging it with the jitter in your bones and the twirls that moved your feet, trying to replicate the euphoria that coursed through your veins. to keep the brush of comfort that stroked your cheeks, until it was the only thing you could feel to fill the depths of your rib cage. – after hours of tracing finger pads along silk skirts and learning to wrap ribbon across your skin, your first class of ballet would come. your eyes were wide with astonishment and curiosity at the sight of several other girls behind the glass wall, talking and giggling with the same dress currently on your body. nerves began to blemish your palms as you pulled open the door, meeting the stares of the girls that manifested a self conscious feeling to plague your mind. the teacher greeted you, ushering you with open arms to come inside and join the group at the front. something large lodged itself deep inside your throat, enabling you from speaking verbally to the adult. instead you took quick and stumbling steps to cross the floor, stopping just behind and seating yourself on the cold tiles. despite being apart from the general crowd you were content, listening to the teacher speak of introductions and show how to properly tie the ribbons of your shoes. she spoke of fancy words that felt funny in your brain, trying to quietly recite them beneath your breath each time a new one was heard. her smile was infectious, permanent on your own lips for the duration of the hour. once names were recited and introductions ceased, she motioned for everyone to stand and line up along the bars that bordered the room. girls rushed and pushed to be first, laughter filling the air as you quietly went towards the back of the room. you preferred it, for it was quiet and you could never even dream to master the ease in which these people spoke with each other as if friends for years. instead you’d let the feeling that masked as comfort continue to embrace you with caged arms. you watched as she instructed you all to spread apart far enough as to not bump into anyone, extending your arms to check the distance. once satisfied, she proceeded to demonstrate a series of poses, showing how to correctly place your feet and smiling when a student would copy her movements precisely. you moved your own body to the flow in which she portrayed, stumbling for you were far from perfect. and yet the rush of satisfaction each time you were able to correctly move your limbs to illustrate what she called a plié made it worth the struggle. eventually your instructor played soft music and told you all to practice what she previously taught, walking around the room to move an arm just several centimeters higher and correcting the placement of feet. you took a deep breath, willing your body to function and follow along with the rest of the students. lifting your feet, trying to hold the position for a second longer, before wobbling and landing back on the flats of your shoes. you let out a frustrated breath, trying once more. “you’re doing it wrong.” a shift of your gaze showed the owner of the voice, a girl the same age as you who without you knowing joined you in the back of the line. this time you did stumble at the surprise of her sudden appearance, glancing around to check if she really was speaking to you. “i am?” you asked quietly after determining there really was no one else around. you weren’t sure what to do. very rarely would you ever speak to people, let alone children your age. how did you start? why were the words so hard to find? “yeah. your balance is terrible too,” she stared down at your feet, your own eyes following her gaze. hues clouded over at her words, swallowing down the lump inside your throat. you knew you wouldn’t be an expert, it was only your first lesson after all, but you couldn’t help but feel dejected knowing she was most likely correct. a heavy sigh could be heard, before the girl entered your vision in a crouching position near your feet, petite fingers wrapping around your ankles and forcing them to move to what she deemed necessary, “try it like this. that way it’s more even.” you blinked in surprise as she stood up, brown eyes watching you expectantly for you to try her method. quickly you shook away your thoughts and began the sequence, smiling softly when you were able to do so with ease. she stayed by your side after that, giving you pointers to improve in the form of blunt words that appeared harsh to the other girls in the class. you realized that was why she had joined you in the back of the studio, hearing the whispers of how stuck up and mean she presented as to them. it confused you, because the way you saw her was completely different. sure her words were blunt, but that was all there was to it. her expression merely rested in a way that painted no smile, however you could tell that she enjoyed what she did due to the practiced movements in which her body flowed. and she was not at all mean. she never said anything bad about your lack of words or outwardly expressed a distaste towards you, and she never made you feel uncomfortable while in her presence. a clap from the teacher as congratulations along with shouts about next meeting, concluding the end of that days lesson. at the realization that you’d have to go back to that house, the contentment that had followed you through the class dispersed, replaced with that same look of dejection you wore each time it processed. your movements were slow and sluggish packing up your things, untying the ribbons that caressed your skin and replacing them with the smudged sneakers you grew to hate. a frown tugged at your lips, slinging the bag over your shoulder before quickly dropping when met with the girl who accompanied you during class. she stared at you, expression still neutral as she extended out her palm, “i’m eun-yoo. what’s your name?” your eyes stared at her invitation of greeting, appalled that she had approached you first, “me?” “there’s no one else here.” once more her words were never harsh, just simply blunt in answering your question. it made you realize she hadn’t come up to you for convenience and truly wanted to know who you were. “right! it’s (name).” your voice felt squeaky and rushed to save yourself from the embarrassment, and yet you were happy taking her hand and feeling the warmth that it provided. she nodded in acknowledgment to your clarification, pausing for a moment before beginning to walk ahead to leave the classroom. you watched as she moved, still amazed at the interaction and how it didn’t go as badly as you had thought. you didn’t forget your name nor stumbled over your words, a great feat for someone who rarely engaged in social interaction of any kind. she glanced back, staring at you and you were confused, thinking she had forgotten something. you glanced around, trying to spot a fabric or object that obtained the possibility of belonging to her before widening your gaze when she sighed and retraced her steps, grabbing your hand and forcing you to join her in her small walk. “does you mom bring you here?” she asked, clearing the dazed stare of your gaze focused on your joined hands. you shook your head, recalling the closed car door that faced you with no goodbye, “she drops me off.” “she doesn’t stay to watch?” another small shake that swished with the strands of your hair. she hummed, light and understanding of your situation, “my foster parents don’t stay either, but my brother sits in that chair while we practice.” you turned to glance around the seating area meant for parents and guardians, trying to spot features that would appear similar to eun yoo. you were only able to recognize a corner of the room before she was grabbing your face to avoid further inspection. “no don’t look at him! he’s embarrassing, always playing those stupid games.” her face twisted to that of disgust, a small groan leaving her lips as she thought about her elder brother. you smiled lightly at the expression, wondering if you too would think the same thing if you had been blessed with siblings. for the first time that evening eun yoo smiled back, pretty with the way it reached her eyes and brightened her features. it made her seem less intimidating, and you wished she’d smile more often if it painted an expression like that. you both turned at the sound of her name being called, seeing a boy not much older than you and a couple who held up their hands to wave. she quickly fixed her gaze to rest on you once more, smile no longer there, “this is me, i’ll see you next class then. make sure to practice what i taught you, hm? we gotta do our best for our performance.” she dropped her hands and parted with a simple wave, leaving you to watch as she poked fun at her brother and lead the small family down the stairs. when her figure disappeared you found that the smile you wore remained, and the despair you had dreaded ceased to exist. it left you humming a light tune and steps that departed prints of your contentment in its wake, forgetting about the cracks that you used to take great strides in avoiding. eun-yoo, a name you’d engrave inside your brain from then on. your first friend, and the first person to provide you that same comfort you felt while watching the performance in the auditorium. – there was never a moment you hated that was spent with eun-yoo. by then you were two souls bound, and you believed if there were soulmates similar to that of platonic love it would best describe the way you felt about her. each morning she’d join you on the floor for stretches, not a greeting but a simple ramble about her weekend. her voice would stretch on and on until she paused, an indication for you to speak which left you recalling every minute you spent without her present. eun-yoo would listen quietly, making small remarks between your string of sentences, and it felt nice to be heard. that your words and the experiences you encountered mattered to someone other than yourself. by then you grew used to the way of how class flowed. all the other girls decided upon who to interact with and which position along the bar to flock to. eun-yoo would lead the way to the back of the line like always, for it was quieter and allowed you avoidance and ultimately comfort from the stares of unfamiliar gazes. she’d leave space between the girl in front of her and herself, making it appear like this was your own class with just you and your companion. “alright class,” two claps from your instructor to gain your attention, “take some time to practice your pirouettes.” a series of groans filled the studio, shuffles of movement as the girls got into position nonetheless. you moved forward ever so slightly and faced eun-yoo so the two of you could watch each other practice and provide small reminders of what to do. quickly you positioned your feet, holding up your arms and counting the beats to the music that began to play. your body felt light and at ease going along to the flow of the music, even closing your eyes to fully bask in the feeling. “these shoes are uncomfortable.” eun-yoo complained, halting her movements to reach down and rub at the sore muscles of her feet. you smiled lightly while shaking your head at her whines, for she did this each time class neared the end of its hour. “try readjusting it or breaking them in more,” you suggested, still following in the movements that your teacher instructed. you lifted your feet up, holding the position as the girl reached down with one leg in the air to release the silk ribbons. “come on stupid knot.” she muttered under her breath, hopping to maintain her balance in the air. like a bunny she spun in quick and wobbly steps towards your figure, grunting in frustration when her fingers struggled to untie it with ease. another stumbling step, before a small yelp escaped her throat that tipped her over the edge. eun-yoo’s body leaned forward and bumped into your own, earning her a small cry that ripped from your throat when pain shot through your ankle. your balance faltered and gravity pushed you to land on the ground with her by your side, stares from the other girls and the abrupt halt of music overwhelming your senses. “are you two alright?” the older woman spoke in rushed words laced with worry in her tone, crouching down to inspect the scene. eun-yoo was quick to stand back up onto her feet, sharp eyes waiting for you to join her so you could continue as if nothing happened. you pushed your palms towards the floor to hold your weight, shifting it to your legs only to stop at the sharp pain that shot through your muscles. you winced at the uncomfortable feeling, even more so when your teacher reached down and gently rolled it between her hands. “it’s not broken but you will need to sit out for the rest of the class,” she announced, turning to look at eun-yoo. her expression remained blank, staring at your fallen form and appearing almost shocked at the outcome of this predicament, “help them to the chairs outside will you?” the girl made no words to agree, simply reaching down and helping you stand with the aid of your teacher. she was careful in helping your limp form across the glossy wooden floors and through the large door, easing you down into the closest chair behind the glass. she stared at you for a moment, something reflecting in those eyes of hers but you couldn’t place what. perhaps she felt guilt? but it was partially your fault for not helping her when you had the chance, and you knew she would never wish such misfortune upon you. you smiled in hopes to ease whatever worries caused her to stare at you in that way, “i’m okay. the teacher said i just need to rest for a bit.” a beat of silence, before she nodded and turned her body away from you, “wait for me after class.” she spoke, leaving you no time to agree nor protest as she was already disappearing back into the studio. you sighed at the sight of her absent figure, yet you knew she meant no harm in her actions. dejection cut its claws deep into your skin however, body slumping into the chair that felt far too uncomfortable supporting your body. a throb ebbed in your ankle as you stared longingly through the glass panes, wishing it were you performing to the beat of the music that coursed through your veins. it hummed beneath your skin, itching and every twitch would leave you frustrated along with the pain that prevented you from doing what you loved most. you wished it had never happened, yet you knew you could not blame her for something you could not predict. another deep sigh, melting your figure deeper into the confines of plastic and metal that dimmed the spirit of your dreams. “you’re eun-yoo’s friend.” you jumped slightly at the sound of a new voice, glancing to your side to see a boy around your age, perhaps older, also slumped across the seat. headphones rested on his ears with one pulled back to prove he wasn’t using whatever sounds to block out your voice, fingers holding onto a device that glowed across the glasses that framed his face. you blinked, comprehending his features and realizing he looked similar to the girl currently practicing beyond the mirror. if you were correct, this was eun-yoo’s older brother, a boy you rarely conversed with due to her reluctance to even acknowledge that he existed. you were always confused on why she was so embarrassed of a male who simply enjoyed his hobby of the distortion of reality through the screen of an object. “yes…i am.” you spoke quietly, glancing through the mirror as if unsure of your words. would she be mad if you spoke to him? you didn’t wish to cause her to become upset, but you found no reason to ignore him when he spoke to you first. “is your ankle okay?” he asked after a beat of silence. you glanced down at the limb, cautiously rolling it to gauge how it felt. it still hurt, but it wasn’t as painful as before. “it’s just a small sprain. i’ll be fine.” you mumbled, glancing over at his direction once more and eyeing the screen of his phone. every time you’ve seen him before he was on it, fingers tapping furiously across it with an expression of concentration quickly turned to frustration. you always wondered what it was that had him experience such emotions, and so vividly at that. he took notice of your curiosity, tapping his leg against the floor in anxiousness before getting up and taking the empty seat right beside you. surprise wrote itself on your features at the sudden closeness, quickly disappearing however when he took off his headphones and placed them over your ears. he leaned down and moved the device to settle equally between the both of you, allowing a clear view of what pixels combined to create an image of imagination. the male proceeded to explain what each control meant and the lore behind what he was playing, moving the character with ease that came with weeks flowing into months of time put into the game. your eyes, wide and in awe, reflected with such emotions as you grew enthralled by the concept of such a diversion from reality. something obtainable that manifested an illusion to mask the harshness of what you faced, creating a concept much more desirable to alter your sensibility. you learned to grow grateful towards the male that allowed you to realize that such a thing existed, and for the kindness he provided during the minutes that remained for the class period. a smile that only ever presented itself while dancing and with eun-yoo began to grace your lips, permanent as you listened to his soft mumbling that grew more frantic when something exciting happened on the screen. you found your own fingers tightening and body leaning forward ever so slightly to take in the scenes flashing within your gaze, a foreign feeling fluttering along the cracks of your lips and dips of your figure. it bloomed and ran across the expanses of your skin, burning until it was everything you could feel and comprehend amongst the colors and air of jubilation. you’d later learn that his name was eun-hyuk due to the grumbles that came from eun-yoo when class ended. a string of mumbled sentences along the lines of scolding him to leave you alone and not bother you with such fantasy overcame the chatter of the crowd, placing your bag packed of your belongings beside your legs along with a small package of your favorite candy hidden beneath the depths of your change of clothes. she gave you a half hearted wave while pulling him by the wrist towards the stairs, but not before you caught the awkward smile across his face directed towards you and you only. your fingers would raise with just as much hesitation, your own uneasy smile resting upon your lips. and yet it was not uncomfortable. it was a shy way to depart and conclude the small amount of time spent with the boy, leaving you to fully comprehend the surge of oblivious emotions the siblings left you to cradle in their wake. it was so very strange the way they made you feel, different depending on the person and yet you cherished every bit of it. every smile formed due to their presence and the sense of security that followed along. any other person you’d want to avoid due to the anxiety that squeezed every limb and muscle it could, while these people were able to relieve the tension that pinched inside your chest. you never could place what it all meant. all you knew was you quite liked the way it embraced you in substitution of the warmth you lacked. – the family in which you found yourself spending your time with had a lovely home. the first time you stepped through the door, there was no coldness that pricked at your fingertips nor despair that tugged at your limbs. it wasn’t quiet like the eeriness that echoed and bounced throughout your own walls and better yet, there were no broken vases displayed on the table. eun-yoo’s foster parents weren’t present at the moment, leaving you and the girl to have the house to yourselves. she led you to her room decorated of photos pinned to walls and an abundance of stuffed animals that hoarded the bed. it was completely different from your own place of barren walls and only blankets to accompany you during the night. you joined her on the bed, gingerly picking up the toy and feeling the soft cotton beneath your touch. for hours you and the girl giggled until your throats were sore and euphoria dripped from your smiles, an abundance of colors reflecting in your gaze. for the first time, in so so long, you felt at ease. you found comfort in the blankets tangling your limbs and the pencil marks scratched onto the walls. felt at ease wandering the halls as you followed after eun-yoo. is this what one meant by family bound by something other than blood? someone who was much easier to be with than the parents you were stuck with? a knock sounded at her door after another hour of endless chatter, bringing you from the makeshift role play commencing between her dolls. eun-yoo ignored it, even as it sounded again and a voice muffled through the other side. “uhm, i think someone’s at the door.” you spoke quietly, glancing between the wood and the girl seated in front of you. “that’s just my brother,” she rolled her eyes, appearing almost annoyed as the knocks continued, “he’ll leave us alone if i pretend he doesn’t exist.” “i can hear you, you know!” eun-hyuk yelled through the chipped wood, muffled due to the barrier, only this time he really did open the door. eun yoo glared at him, grabbing the nearest object, a small bunny, and threw it at the male, “get out of my room!” he caught it with ease, staring at it for a moment before throwing it onto her bed, “do you have my switch? i cant find it.” “i don’t have any of your stupid consoles. leave me and my friend alone.” she muttered, already reaching for another of her stuffed toys. “it’s not stupid,” he defended, ducking out of the way when a dog flew towards his direction, “i need it for the tournament i entered this afternoon.” “well i don’t have it.” eun hyuk sighed, but he didn’t appear particularly angry at his sister’s outburst. if anything, he seemed to be used to the treatment he received from her, and accepted it without struggle, “fine, thanks anyways. have fun with your friend.” his gaze settled on you, just as gentle and kind as the first time you met. it spurred on a fuzzy feeling within your chest, somewhat similar and yet completely different to the one eun-yoo created. you couldn’t quite place it, no matter how long the eye contact went on for. all you could recognize was the comfort that came with the shades of brown in his irises, burning every inch of your skin possible. eventually however, and much to your disappointment, he cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment, glancing away. you tilted your head in confusion, not sure if it was because of the small conflict he had with eun-yoo or something else. either way, he mustered up a small, nervous smile when he did find the courage to lock gazes once more, and you returned it with one of your own before the girl was pushing him out the door and out of sight. – your first performance was one of great excitement and anxiety. trembling fingertips clutched tightly onto the curtain that cloaked you and the rest of the dancers from the peering eyes of the audience, hesitating as you glanced around the crowd with an air of uncertainty. you swallowed thickly, feeling the butterfly of nerves that fluttered within the cage of bones that surrounded your stomach along with the rapid thumping of your heart that rhymed to the same beat. you hadn’t the slightest idea what your gaze was searching for exactly. was it for a sign of comfort to calm the nerves that enabled you to even speak? the parental figures no where to be found amongst the other adults? you felt no disappointment at their absence, and yet your eyes kept scanning the expanse of the room. “(name), we start soon.” eun-yoo stood right beside you at the curtain, waiting for you to join her in the starting position you had practiced over the course of several weeks. your gaze lowered, disappointed that you hadn’t spotted what you had been so desperately looking for. “just a little moment longer?” you pleaded, earning you a small sigh. she nodded, allowing you just one last look beyond the cloak of maroon drapes. hickory brown, warm like the fire that flickers in the depths of a winter storm. it greeted you amongst the crowd, and despite it being such a common color, you felt as if you could spot it even in the dark that illuminates his features. your hands loosen along the fabrics, muscles relaxing the more you both stared, and eventually he greeted you with a quirk of his mouth, as if reassuring you that everything would be okay. you returned it, hoping he could see the lines in your face displaying your contentment. and it is then that you allow yourself to release the tight grip and settle into your spot, gifting another of your smiles to eun-yoo right beside you. when the curtains pulled back and the music, quiet at first, began to play, you were surprised that the nerves that had initially plagued you were no where to be found. perhaps the saying was true, that once you began what had worried you so, the thoughts would disappear. or maybe, it was the image of hickory in the front of your mind that allowed you to dance as if tomorrow wouldn’t come. that allowed you to twirl with an elegant ease and spill ribbons across the stage beneath your feet. that allowed you to feel as light as the clouds as you danced, and perhaps, just maybe, grace the stars you saw that night many months ago. it was over far too soon, for the need to dance still buzzed beneath your skin as the lights dimmed and the curtains cloaked you once more. remained as your teacher ushered you all into a long line and bow in front of the applause and petals thrown at your feet. and it stayed even as eun-yoo pulled you from the stage to her family, who praised her for her performance and showered her with affection. you watched, proudly, for she had danced so beautifully, like a swan in a lake during the first blooms of spring. call yourself biased, but you believed that eun-yoo was one of the best, if not the best, dancer in your class. and she deserved every bit of praise given, even if she turned red with embarrassment and tried to deny the claims. “(name) danced just as good!” eun-yoo was quick to turn the conversation to you, and just as swiftly you were feeling the heat of embarrassment along your cheeks. you waved your hands in front of your face, letting loose a nervous laugh, “no no, that’s not-” “you were amazing up there too, dear!” the woman smiled, before stepping back as eun-hyuk appeared from behind her, “oh, how lovely, eun-hyuk. you got flowers for your sister!” said male nodded, placing a small boquet of roses into eun-yoo’s hands. the red covering her cheeks deepened, and for once she had nothing to say as she accepted the gift. you could only admire for a brief moment however before another boquet appeared in your vision, and it took you a second longer to realize that they were for you. eun-hyuk appeared embarrassed as he gently placed them in your arms, careful not to damage the petals with the rustle of movement created. just like the girl beside you, you couldn’t speak, instead gaze switching between the blooms of yellow with a tinge of red and the warm brown of his eyes. “you did. dance good i mean.” he spoke quietly, stepping back when they were secure in your hold. gingerly, as if afraid they would break beneath your touch, you graced the petals, soft and smooth beneath your finger pads. emotion clogged itself within your throat, not familiar with such words of praise, and so genuinely at that. your parents, the people who created you, didn’t even bother to show up to your first dance. and yet here was this boy, just a mere stranger several weeks before, gifting you a bouquet and a shy smile you engraved into your memory. “thank you, eun-hyuk.” you spoke just as softly, closing your eyes and smiling to show the extent of your gratitude. – it was practically routine for you to stay at eun-yoo’s residence. as the months had gone by, almost to a year, it wasn’t strange to find you either within the confines of her room or in the living area, eun-yoo of course by your side. in fact, you were over so often you began to leave a bag of clothes in her closet, for the days you’d spend the night beneath her covers or didn’t bother to make the trip back home in order to change out of your school uniform. it was funny, laughable really, how this small house had become more like a home to you than the one you grew up in. one day in particular, when the morning birds chirped and the sun beat down heavily across your skin, eun-yoo was no where to be found. you hadn’t realized it when eun-hyuk had let you in without any questions, but it became apparent when the girl didn’t come barreling from her room to swiftly take you away from her elder sibling. you had asked the question weighing heavily inside your mind, to which the boy shrugged his shoulders while dropping himself onto the couch, “our foster parents had her go do something. she’ll be back later.” “oh, alright.” you remained quiet for a moment, shifting your weight between your legs. very rarely were you ever left alone with eun-hyuk, you were so used to his sister making it so it never happened after all. but now that the inevitable had come, you hadn’t the slightest idea of what to make of the opportunity presented before you. eun-hyuk seemed to notice your hesitation, quick to scoot over and gently pat the empty space beside him, “i’m playing this new game my friend recommended me. you can uh, watch if you want.” your ears perked up at his suggestion, and without a second thought you sat down and melted into the softness of the cushions. eun-hyuk quickly put up the brightness and tilted the screen to the side, a perfect view for you to absorb the array of colors reflecting across his and yours features. you weren’t sure how long you stayed on that couch, watching with pure amazement and wonder in your gaze as eun-hyuk played. you were so fixated on the flashing images and the audio effects ringing in your ears that you didn’t realize you had scooted closer, side pressed against his and fingers clutching excitedly onto his arm each time something happened. didn’t realize the warmth beginning to seep into your bones and settle comfortably on your chest, your cheeks, and the parts of your brain unconsciously taking it all in. didn’t register the small giggles each time he yelled and quickly grew red in embarrassment, nor the chin resting on his shoulder when you began to grow tired. it didn’t click until you began to close your eyes, an unexplainable happiness embracing your body. how could eun-yoo possibly dislike her brother as much as she did? how could she call him intolerable when he had given you an afternoon worth remembering? when he had shown you a kindness much different from hers, but just as loving? you must have muttered something similar under your breath, for the boy was nudging you gently on the side and asking you to repeat your words. “i was just thinking…i don’t understand why eun-yoo dislikes you so much.” you spoke honestly, lifting your head to rub tiredly at your eyes. he appeared taken aback for a moment, mumbling a small ‘oh’ beneath his breath. eun-hyuk blinked, several times before he swallowed thickly and glanced away. it was then that you began releasing words in order to better explain your thinking. “well, i just mean. you’re really nice. and i think it’s cool that you play video games. i like it when you explain it to me.” it was a simple thing, but you appreciated every bit of it. he never grew impatient when you didn’t understand right away, and at times you didn’t even have to ask, for he was already pointing towards the concept and giving a passing comment. the male continued to stare at the ground, swallowing thickly as he finally spoke, “our parents…mom died while giving birth to eun-yoo. and our dad well, he dropped us off at an orphanage and never came back. it may seem like it, but she doesn’t really hate me. it’s quite the opposite actually. she thinks it’s her fault, and she feels bad thinking she’s the reason i don’t have parents anymore.” “she thinks you hate her…” you confirmed, to which he nodded in response. it all made sense now. that in reality, her frustration directed towards eun-hyuk was really for herself. you were well aware that something happened to their birth parents, but you’d never imagine that the home in which you found yourself comfortable in would be as broken as your own. the thought saddened you, despising the idea that these people, who you cared for dearly, would ever experience something similar to your own situation. it was why you reached forward and wrapped your arms around his arm, pressing your body to his side and burying your face into his shirt. “i’m sorry. it must’ve been hard,” you mumbled softly, feeling the small shift of his body to accommodate your weight. “just know…i understand your circumstance, and if you need anything, i’ll be here. i’m a pretty good listener.” you wouldn’t know, not with your face still pressed tightly against his side, but eun-hyuk’s hickory brown clouded over with emotion, and he struggled to keep the tears from spilling down his cheeks as he returned your embrace. warm and inviting. – you’d learn to hate the signs of something new. of something different from what you had grown accustomed to. perhaps it was because you held onto what little sense of belonging and comfort you could, and didn’t want to accept it disappearing from your grasp. the early blooms of spring brought you a sense of dread for the first time in years. you used to hate summer especially, considering how for an entire month you’d be stuck in the confines of your home with no form of escape. it wasn’t until you became friends with eun-yoo did you look forward to the long hours of heat and summer nights, hands sticky with popsicles and clothes damp from water fights. but for once you weren’t looking forward to exchanging your sweaters for sundresses and shorts, not when the flowers blossoming meant that soon school would come to an end. it wasn’t particularly because of the house you resided in, you were long past spending your extra hours of time in that room filled with the buzzing fan and chirping crickets. rather, it was the inevitable outcome that the boy you had grown fond for would be departing from his last year in school. you remembered it clearly, the proud smile he had worn when he told you of his acceptance to the medical program previously applied for, as well as the scream you let out caused by the excitement creaking your bones. you even recalled the late nights he spent locked up in his room studying, tired eyes and groggy movements due to the abundance of information he tried to cram inside his mind. so seeing his hard work finally being paid off in the form of a letter and sophisticated handwriting, you couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than he. you turned at the sound of the door being opened, finding eun-yoo in her dress and hair braided towards the side. the sight of your friend was enough to bring you from your reminiscing, “the ceremony starts soon. my foster mom says to start heading to the car so we can leave.” you mustered up a small smile, even going as far as nodding your head for extra measure, “alright.” she narrowed her eyes at you, lip caught between her teeth as if she had seen right through your facade, “why are you more sad than me?” you blinked, surprised she had noticed so swiftly, before letting loose a nervous laugh, “well…i guess i’m just gonna miss him. aren’t you?” “he’s two years older than us. pretty soon we’ll be going to college as well, so i don’t see a reason to be all upset about it.” eun-yoo was quick to answer, almost like she had recited the words several times prior. almost like, she had consistently told them to herself. “two years is a long time.” you spoke softly, this time your smile appearing solemnly upon your lips. eun-yoo stared at you for a moment, before letting out a quiet huff and swiftly turning around. “not long enough.” eun-hyuks graduating ceremony would bring you to tears. you weren’t positive if they were proud as he walked across the stage, top of his class because he’s always been so intelligent, or sad when it was over, seeing him greet you in those shimmery robes and ridiculous cap. you were sure however that when he took it off his hair would stick up in strange places, and more than once he had tripped over the length of his clothes. just the image was enough to have you muster up the smile you knew he wanted to see. “congratulations.” your voice came out wobbly, laced with much more emotion than you wished had been apparent. your eyes were already puffy from the previous crying session you had, one that eun-yoo scolded you for despite her own tears she desperately fought back. he smiled, warmly and gentle enough to reach his eyes, “thank you.” a small silence settled, and it was in that moment that you wished to memorize as much about eun-hyuk as you could. the lines around his eyes each he smiled, the scratched lenses from the glasses he had dropped far too many times. you took note of the pieces of hair that wouldn’t sit still, no matter how many times he fidgeted with the strands with his fingers. you even engraved the feeling of his warm hands patting the top of your head, calloused because of his video games and careful as if you were porcelain bound to break beneath his touch. “you cant,” you swallowed, thickly enough to force down the ball lodged in your throat as he paused the gentle movement over your head, “you cant forget about me.” his eyes widened, brief enough that you almost missed it. but you didn’t miss the firm nod and the feeling of his arms around your figure, pulling you close and holding you as if it were the last time he’d be able to. you didn’t forget about the hands clutching the back of your shirt, or the smell of fresh laundry stuck on his clothes. you didn’t miss eun-hyuk, but you did, in the sense that you never forgot the way it felt, but ached at the thought of him leaving you once your arms loosened around his form. you missed him, even though spring hadn’t even come to a close. even though it hadn’t even started. when you pulled away, reluctantly and slowly enough to linger for as long as possible, a heavy weight settled onto your chest. it didn’t feel right to say goodbye so soon, not when you still had so much more to say. so much more to do. and yet you couldn’t even grasp one thought relating to it all. you only knew that you wanted to stay longer than you were allowed. “i uhm, i have something for you,” you spoke out in a rush, fingers brushing against the keychain hidden inside your pocket. you fumbled to get it out, cradling it in the palm of your hands as you struggled to initiate eye contact due to the embarrassment heating your cheeks, “my first performance, you gave me flowers. it’s…not as grand but, you can take it everywhere you go.” it started to feel stupid to you, holding the small, red dog with a console in its paws. you had come across it at the arcade when you went with eun-yoo, and at first glance your thoughts had immediately gone to eun-hyuk. you kept it for a while, trying to find the opportunity to give him such a gift, and yet now that it had finally presented itself, you grew self conscious the more he remained silent. finally, much to your shock and embarrassment, the male took it from your hands, fingers grazing along your palm from the action. the skin burned from the touch, tingling even as he pulled away and held it up for you to see. “it’s cute,” he quirked the side of his mouth up, and oh, his eyes crinkled at the corners just like before, “thank you, (name).” such simple words, such a simple smile, and yet it had your heart pounding inside your chest, and for that same, euphoric feeling to melt inside your body. it stayed even as eun-hyuk waved one final time before getting into the car packed of his things, and it was merely a blurred figure steadily disappearing into the distance. stayed even when eun-yoo had clutched tightly onto your hand, fingers squeezing your palm as if to say she too, dreaded the spring. – a majority of your third year of high school was spent upon the rooftops, high above the ground and most of all, with a newfound quiet. the years had gone by, quicker than you had imagined. it was like you had heard so many times before by any adult willing to talk, speaking of how your life begins to flash before your eyes during your high school years. you wouldn’t even realize until you were suddenly thrown into the real world with little to no experience and knowledge on how to survive, like a lamb to the slaughter. your legs kicked the air as they swung from your position on the edge of the roof, lunch half finished in your lap. unsurprisingly enough eun yoo remained in your presence, walking along the edge and arms held out to maintain balance despite how many times you had told her to refrain from doing so. you were sure her foster parents would get a heart attack if they knew of her dangerous stunts. “hey, did you do that assignment from last class?” the girl asked, breaking the silence that had initially settled. you brought up your chopsticks and took a bite, pondering over her question as you chewed, “the one due today?” “yeah.” you sighed, wearily as you recalled the burning vision and the stiff limbs from the odd position, “i stayed up all night doing it.” “i need the answers.” she replied bluntly, wobbling a bit to which you instinctively held out a hand to grab her. luckily, for both you and her, she landed onto the safety of the roof, before taking up the empty space beside you. another sigh, shaking your head as you picked at the rice with the ends of your sticks, “if you keep this up your grades are gonna get worse, and-” “i know i know. my foster parents will get mad.” she let out a groan, throwing her head back to stare at the expanse of blue, “i just want to be done with high school already.” you hummed, agreeing with her complaints. after three years of the same routine and knowing it would be your last, any student would be impatient to finish as soon as possible. even you were growing tired of the endless pages of textbooks you seemingly drowned yourself in each day, “our career sheets are due soon. did you write anything down?” eun-yoo blinked up at the sky, clouds reflecting in her gaze as she swallowed thickly, “i think…i want to continue dancing.” “a professional ballet dancer?” you inquired, leaning back onto your hands to support your weight. she shrugged, lips pulled down into a small frown as she closed her eyes, “i cant think of anything else. and i guess i’m okay at it so…” you hated that about eun-yoo. she was always doubting herself, as if she was unable to see just how capable she was. she wasn’t particularly hesitant in knowing what she wanted, she was the type to freely speak her mind after all. but there was no mistaking the instant regret she tried to hide by simply leaving the conversation or area as a whole. you wanted her to be able to fulfill her dreams without an ounce of doubt, “i think it’s a great idea,” you glanced up at the sky, eyeing the shapes she began pointing out beneath her breath, “then it’s settled, we’ll become the best ballet dancers in south korea.” she didn’t turn to look at you, but you did take notice of the quietness of her voice as if she couldn’t quite comprehend your words, “you mean it?” “yeah. we’ll even live next door to each other,” you smiled, gently, before quickly rephrasing your words, “or roommates if that’s what you prefer.” “next door. i like my space.” she was quick to quip back, a hint of a smile evident on her features. you laughed, light and airy and spilling with euphoria, knowing it was only partially true, “okay.” – with the sunlight spilling through the curtains and the comfort of an abundance of blankets laid carefully over your body, you wouldn’t have assumed that the footsteps leading to eun-yoo’s room would be particularly bad. winter had arrived with the gentle brush of snowfall and glistening ice, and despite the arrays of heat reflecting across your skin, it did nothing to protect you from the cold currently shaking your body. several times the girl had teased you for your soft whines of complaints, even though she herself wore fuzzy socks and a large sweater over her frame. it was relatively quiet, with just the gentle hum of the heater and eun-yoo’s soft laughs produced by the content flashing on her phone. you opted to keep yourself busy only with your mind, although you could only think so much before your eyes grew drowsy and sleep tugged gently at the back of your mind. “eun-yoo!” a loud shriek of anger jolted you awake, ringing in your ears as the door flew open. said girl who’s name had been uttered with such displeasure merely glanced at the woman in the doorway of her room, facial features relaxed, perhaps even bored, and not at all frightened. “what?” she asked, annoyance laced deep within her tone. her lack of emotion seemed to only fuel the flames currently burning. “what the hell is this?” she held up a small box of cigarettes, crumbled as a result of how tightly they were in her grasp. you could practically predict how this conversation would play out, eerily similar to the arguments from your own place of residence. “you went snopping through my stuff?” eun-yoo asked, disbelief flashing across her features, “what happened to respecting my privacy?” “it’s not about your privacy, it’s about the fact that you went behind my back.” the woman retorted, and yet eun-yoo was speaking back just as quickly. “you could at least have the decency to respect my things!” “ungrateful little brat. you can forget about ballet lessons, not until you throw away whatever else of this you’re hiding,” she threw the pack at eun-yoo, who caught it with ease. it didn’t help to dissipate the frustrated expressions still scrunching their features, “and while you’re at it, get your grades up.” “are you serious?” by this point eun-yoo stood up, only this time she finally expressed another emotion besides anger; fear, “i have an important recital soon, i can’t miss it-” “then you better get to it,” she turned towards you, feeling small under her gaze and most of all, frightened. it reminded you too much of your own mother, despite how she tried to soften her voice whilst speaking, “(name), its best if you leave.” “they didn’t do anything wrong!” eun-yoo protested, taking the smallest step closer towards you still cocooned within the fabrics. you couldn’t even speak, mouth too dry and tongue too twisted to appropriately form the syllables whirling inside your mind. “well they can’t come over then either!” you could see it, the hurt reflecting in eun-yoo’s eyes, the clouds glossing over in her vision. it made your own heart feel tight inside your chest at the sight, especially as her tone cracked between her lips, “you’re not even my real mom, so stop acting like it!” she wrapped her fingers around your arm, pulling you from the bed, “come on (name).” you hadn’t even realized, not until the girl forced you to stumble after her quick steps, that you were struggling to breathe. until the bitter cold was harsher, causing chills to travel down your spine and to nip at your cheeks. it didn’t register, not until a car passed by you on the street, and the sounds you had tried to block finally came back to pound in your ears. there was a reason why you preferred being with eun-yoo. even if she tended to fight with eun-hyuk on more than one occasion, it was never with actual aggression, not to mention her home environment was much more comforting than your own. it hadn’t even crossed your mind that the very thing you were avoiding would spur in the very blankets you protected yourself in, and you hated the idea that eun-yoo had to experience such a thing. you swallowed thickly, stopping in your tracks and forcing her to stop as well, “eun-yoo-” “don’t.” she croaked out, head lowered and hair falling like a curtain around her face. it didn’t help to hide the emotion still clouding in her gaze, “just…come on, lets get you home.” ‘but you’re my home’ you wanted to say, taking a step forward to grasp onto her hand. it was a gentle touch, perhaps even hesitant, as to not scare her. you would know better than anyone else the consequences of such an argument. you sent a quick look over your shoulder, before lowering your tone to a soft hyme, “maybe you should go back, i don’t want you to get in trouble-” “i said no okay?” eun-yoo snapped, turning around to further accentuate her words. the girl quickly realized the tone used, regret glossing over her eyes as she glanced away once more, “look, i’ll call you. well, if she doesn’t take that away next.” “i’m sorry.” you whispered, because you truly were. you hated ever seeing eun-yoo upset, for she was always so good at cheering you up (even if most didn’t view it in that way). but in this particular situation, one you should be able to help in, you couldn’t find any words suitable for her mood. her attention remained glued to the cement, words hushed and broken leaving her lips, “sorry won’t fix anything.” the next several days of school were the equivalent to hell. eun-yoo didn’t show up for several days, leaving you to spend your lunches unaccompanied and in utter silence. it didn’t bother you before, considering how conversation was rarely initiated whilst eating. however, without the possibility, it only made it deafening to your ears. several calls were made to her phone, but after all being sent to voicemail, you assumed the device had been taken away as well. on the third day you begun to worry that something major really had happened, and the sickening feeling stayed even as you spotted the girl stumbling her way up the steps towards the rooftop. “eun-yoo!” you spoke, equally surprised and relieved at the sight of her figure. she stopped in front of you, and you made no moves to hug her in case she wasn’t in the mood for physical affection, “are you…alright? i was worried.” “i…” she paused, tears beginning to cloud her vision. the water split over the edge and ran down her cheeks, out of both frustration and shame. you wanted nothing more than to reach forward and embrace her, but you remained silent and encourage her to continue on, “i’m moving.” you could barely croak out the words ‘what?’ in response to her announcement, heart squeezing painfully inside your chest and mouth feeling far too dry for your liking. “my foster parents gave me up. they don’t…they don’t want me anymore. so legally speaking, eun-hyuk is my guardian now and…” she blinked, before pulling the sleeve of her sweater and using it to wipe the tears still streaming down her face, “i leave by the end of the week.” you wanted nothing more than to cry with her. to refuse that what she said could possibly be true. and yet you couldn’t, not when eun-yoo was clearly in distress. if anything, the need to spill whatever emotions you wanted to could come later. for now, you needed to will your limbs to move and hold her close, fingers gently carding through the strands of her hair. “it’s going to be okay,” you mumbled, burying your face into the crook of her neck in hopes it’d stifle your tone thick with emotion, “i’ll…call you everyday. and-and i’ll miss you. i’ll always miss you.” “it’s not fair.” she sobbed, her nails beginning to hurt as they fisted the fabric of your uniform. you weren’t sure if she was referring to the change in area, the fact that eun-hyuk would have to take responsibility, or that in the end, not even her parents had wanted her. you hoped that the embrace you held her in would tell her that at least one person did. – you graduated with a single flower and a half finished cap. it wasn’t terrible per say. the last few months of your time in high school went by relatively quickly, perhaps because of the routine you set for yourself in order for things to go by without having to think. though, no calculated hours and scribbled lists could change the empty seat you saw every morning, nor the fact that every hour not in school was spent watching the ticking of the clock inside your room. eun-yoo kept her promise however. it was one of many qualities you loved about her, including how she spoke as if things hadn’t changed through the speaker of your phone. she told you of her own graduation, as well as the new studio she found herself attending to continue ballet. you both decided to take a year off before college, although it was more of a mask to hide from your parents who kept pestering you over the idea. either way, the easy flow between you and the girl hadn’t changed, and you were grateful for the fact, especially as her voice crackled through the small device. “would it really kill them to clean up the place? i saw another dead roach, and i heard downstairs the water stopped working for a bit.” her soft whines caused you to chuckle, for you’d participated in this same conversation for the past several months since she had moved to the apartment complex eun-hyuk resided. it seemed to be a new complaint each day, but you’d gladly listen to it all for the sake of hearing her voice as if right beside you. “surely it cant be that bad.” you mused, only to let loose another laugh when she scoffed at your words. “that’s ’cause you don’t actually live here. wait!” eun-yoo paused, the sudden pitch in her tone causing you to stop your current movements, “your concert is tonight!” “oh, yes it is.” it was something you had only mentioned briefly, and those small words had been directed towards the solo part you managed to secure. of course you were ecstatic at the achievement, it was your first after all, and you even took the liberty of telling your parents. but after the plain reactions and swift conclusion of the topic, you hadn’t pushed for anything other than a ‘congratulations’ from eun-yoo. “wait, go on video, i’m gonna help you with your hair.” you did as told, smiling shyly when her face came into view. she smiled back, before moving the screen closer to her face and squinting her eyes, “uh, move that piece over there back.” it went on that way for several minutes, eun-yoo directing your hands and giving suggestions for your appearance. it was almost like old times, when she had finally gotten to the stage of wanting to experiment with hair and makeup and you had let her do so on your figure. it had gone terrible the first time, lips smeared with far too much red and the hair tie stuck in the depths of your strands. and yet it was a memory you kept close to your heart, outcome laughable or not. “you look lovely.” she smiled when you had finished, causing your cheeks to burn at the compliment. you averted your attention towards the ground, fidgeting with your fingertips as she continued to speak, “good luck, break a leg, whatever makes you feel better. i uhm. sorry i can’t be there.” “no no! you’re okay,” you waved your hands for reassurance, gaze softening to match your own wistful tone, “i cant really be at any of your performances either.” a small silence settled, reminding you of the distance currently separating you both. eun-yoo was quick to shake it off however, determination shining in her brown hues, “next time we’re on the stage together, it’ll be because we’re famous. two of the best dancers made to perform.” it was a lovely dream, one you wanted to achieve no matter what, for it made your heart warm like a cup of coffee, “we’ll be in the headlines, eun-yoo.” you danced as if writing out the very dreams being wished, splayed it across the stage with each step taken and each twirl that spun the silk decorating your feet. for a moment you didn’t mind the idea of something new, not when flowers bloomed with every touch and grass blades tickled your skin. you could practically feel it as well, the gentle warmth from the rays of sunshine and the melodic chirps of a bird afloat. each sensation reminded you that dancing wasn’t just something you picked up for a semblance of comfort. it nourished the bones of your body and healed weariness of your heart, until you were a soul released of the struggles that had burdened you so. when the applause came and the lights dimmed, you found yourself ushered to the back of the stage, greeted by appraisal and large grins. your cheeks burned from each inviting smile, and yet it was also a permanent scorch that etched itself onto your features due to the adrenaline still coursing through your veins, the very same causing your fingers to tap against themselves. “(name), someone’s asking for you.” one of the girls from your ballet class pointed towards a small group of people further into the back stage, wearing business attire and speaking with your instructor. nerves began to shake your limbs at the idea of having to unexpectedly converse with strangers you had no reason to build a relationship with, but you willed yourself to join the conversation. “uhm, hi. you called..?” you asked, uneasy smile resting on your lips. “we saw your performance, outstanding really,” a woman much older than you spoke, pulling out a small card from her blazer, “would you be interested in a performance at our auditorium? if you really are looking to become a professional, this will help boost your recognition.” you couldn’t speak as your fingers took hold of the flimsy paper, staring at the words printed nicely onto it. it didn’t feel real, even as you read over the small lettering hundreds of times, and even as you shook hands with them to feel the warmth of their palms. perhaps you were still dreaming, reaching for the stars, a thought that followed you on the way back to the house you lived in. perhaps, and yet you still smiled opening the door. “you’re back late.” the woman you called your mother sat by the kitchen table, hands nursing a glass of wine. immediately the smile you had worn dropped, fidgeting with the strap of your bag, “i told you before. i had a concert.” she sighed, taking a long sip before speaking once more, “when are you going to start studying for college exams? you only have so much time left.” “well, about that,” you could feel it, how terrible of an idea it was. but how much more would you hide from the truth of what you really wanted to do? it was only a matter of time before the resentment bubbled over anyways, “i was offered a huge scholarship. for dancing.” “decline it.” she wasted no time with her words, sharp and straight to the point. you should’ve kept you mouth shut, you always had when it came to her, but the hurt was already spilling through the cracks of your lips. “wha- why?” she stared at you, and if you hadn’t grown up with this woman and known of her honey venom words, you’d think she was being considerate with her low tone, “it’s a hobby, (name). nothing more.” water began to cloud over your vision, and you desperately blinked away the tears to maintain your composure, “but if i love it and i have the opportunity to pursue it, shouldn’t i-” you didn’t register the stinging of your cheeks until several seconds after. didn’t realize until your eyes focused on the hand raised by your face. shakily, your palm pressed against the tenderness of the skin, staring at the woman in front of you with disbelief reflecting across your features. “you forget who has authority here,” her voice came out low and dangerous, and if you were younger, you would’ve coward away from the sound, “either you listen to me, or i kick you out of this home.” every part of your brain was screaming at you to obey, to lay yourself beneath her feet as you always did. but you were just so tired, and like a plugged up sink, it finally overflowed, “”it never felt like a home with you in here.” you found yourself in the bitter cold of a lonely night after the shatter of glass and raised voices. your hands shook taking out your phone, frustrating you due to the amount of times you almost dropped it. they trembled even as you searched for the one name in you contacts, and even more so as you waited for her to pick up. “i was sleeping, what is it?” eun-yoo’s voice came out groggy, confirming the fact that the girl had in fact been asleep prior to your call. “ah, i uhm. sorry. it-it can wait.” you cursed yourself for the break in your voice, after you had tried so hard to keep it steady too. a pause, and you heard a small shift from her side of the device, “are you crying?” the emotion that had lodged itself into your throat finally released, a small sob ripping from your throat. the first one that night, “i think i just got kicked out.” “what?! how the hell did that happen?” “me and my mom-we just uh, we got into a fight and things escalated and i just-” the words fell out of your lips in a rush, and you took a moment to gasp in a much needed breath. now that the waterworks had started they wouldn’t stop, and no matter how many times you tried to swallow and compose yourself, another round would shake your limbs and render you inaudible. she sighed, although more to herself than at your incoherent babbling, “ah, im supposed to be the rebellious one out of the two of us.” “sorry-” “first step to being a rebel. no apologizes.” you blinked in surprise at her words, taking your momentary shock to wipe some of the tears staining your cheeks, “huh?” “look uh,” she muttered something under her breath, and you waited patiently for eun-yoo to gather her thoughts, “do you have anywhere to go?” the thought hadn’t even crossed your mind, not when you were trying desperately to escape the wrath of flames burning your skin. but now that eun-yoo mentioned it, you hadn’t the slightest idea of where to go from this point forward. your next words came out with the rising shame in your being, “no…” another sigh, “you aren’t going to like my second option.” “that’s okay.” you’d honestly take anything you could, even if you didn’t necessarily enjoy the idea. “there’s some empty apartments here. i can have eun-hyuk talk to the owner about you moving in.” your mouth opened slightly, and you blinked once more to comprehend her words and let them fully sink in, “live…at green home?” “okay, i know, it’s pretty shitty here. but i’m out of ideas.” her voice came out frustrated, but like previous times, you knew it was directed towards her own talking than your reluctance. you pondered over the suggestion for several long seconds. for one it would be cheap, and the job you currently worked should be enough to cover any expenses. it wouldn’t be permanent either, just long enough for you to save up enough to go to the scholarship offered to you just several hours before. not to mention, eun-yoo would be there, as well as a certain male you hadn’t seen for quite some time, “okay. okay i can-i can do that.” a comfortable silence settled, just the sound of the cars passing by and the ragged breathing of you still struggling for air. eventually eun-yoo broke the pounding in your ears, “hey.” “hi.” you couldn’t help but laugh softly under your breath, awaiting the words she wanted to speak. “wipe your face,” leave it to eun-yoo to be blunt in her words, but provide for you exactly what you needed to lighten the heavy weight atop your chest, “and don’t die in the middle of the streets.” – eun-yoo hadn’t been lying when she had complained to you about the condition of the building. with just a single box clutched into your arms you entered green home for the first time, taking in the chipped paint on the walls and the flickering lights of the small grocery store. it wasn’t terrible per say, but eun-yoo was right in saying they could fix the place up. of course interior was more of an easy fix, you weren’t sure what lied behind the walls enclosed around you. the elevator rocked your body as it went up, reminding you of the horror movies you’d watch with eun-yoo as a kid. it was the type to get stuck half way, or for the lights to go out and something unexpected to appear. you breathed easy when it dinged on the floor you were meant to step out on. your eyes scanned over the numerous of numbers engraved onto painted gold metal in front of the door, finding that the upper floors were just the same, if not worst, as far as paint and sanitation. trash littered the halls and dents were made into the walls. from what, you weren’t quite sure, but you stopped in front of your own door similar to others. you heaved out a short breath, arms going numb from how heavy the contents inside the cardboard were. you could only fit so much in the short amount of time neither of your parents were home to see you in your room, stuffing items like old photos and your ballet shoes desperately inside. the heaviest of it all was the record player you got from eun-yoo on one of your birthdays, something you were sure you’d be using often considering the requirement to save power in order to stay on track of saving. “heavy.” you muttered under your breath, shifting it once more before they were pulled out of your hands. you blinked at the unexpected change in weight, before directing your surprise towards the indivual standing before you. your heart almost gave out from realizing who it was, scratched lenses and all. “eun-yoo is out getting groceries.” he spoke, his own brown eyes staring down at your rapid blinking. they flickered between your expression and the contents of the box, appearing uncomfortable the longer the silence stretched on. “eun-hyuk.” you breathed, finally saving yourself from further embarrassment. according to eun-yoo he was supposed to be the one getting groceries, but it appeared plans had changed during the time you’d put away your phone on the way over. he mustered up a small smile, before allowing his gaze to rest on the cracked glass of a framed picture, “i uh, didn’t expect for you to actually agree. this place isn’t…” “i’m fine with it.” you gifted him your own smile, before clearing your throat and maneuvering around him to unlock the door. a barren room greeted you, only worn pieces of furniture decorating the complex. this caused you to laugh out nervously, shyly meeting his gaze, “definitely fine with it.” he didn’t ask questions as he entered through the doorway and placed the box down onto the table, helping you pull out the items even though there weren’t many to begin with. you didn’t mind however, opting to take the time he spent admiring a photo of you and eun-yoo in grade school to fully take in the individual. only two years had passed, but eun-hyuk had grown a little more into his features. if anything, he appeared more mature now, and you could also conclude that he had grown a bit in height as well. although, his glasses were still the same since he had shown them to you as a kid, and his hair still fell across his forehead, even if combed to present neater. it was…strange to you. this was still the same boy you grew up with, even if you didn’t spend as much time with him as you did his sister

In a time where; There is no monsterization. Well, yet as Zero didn’t awaken the souls yet to give salvation to those who treated him well.

BLLK and CREWCREW were online friends for almost a year now, crew decided to suggest they should both meet up. BLLK hesitated before agreeing, the anxiety waves he got as he was going to go out again to interact with a real human being in person.

There were ups and downs until he realized that running and pushing everyone away may not be the best solution when he realizes that he’s been too happy with them, maybe he didn’t deserve to die, maybe he could actually be happy.

But he can’t even seem to let go on what one singular person did to him and now he can’t ever let the voices go silent nor the thoughts go away. Yet… two certain people held their hands out to him, warm hands made contact with his cold ones as his heart melted in their embrace. Maybe… it was time to finally let down the barriers surrounding his heart to finally accept that; He can be loved.
