Back in 1989, I cross-stitched this little poem for the father of my children. We had just opened our first medical practice, and I thought it would be a nice thing to hang in our reception area.
Just last week, I was thinking “I wonder whatever happened to that cute little cross-stitch I made all those years ago … ” I didn’t mention it to anyone; it was just a random, fleeting thought. A few days later, my son texted me this picture with the message “Does this look familiar?” He had stumbled upon it in the storage area at his dad’s office. Here are the words, in case you can’t read them from the picture:

You can clean your items by wiping them down by using a very small amount of water on a soft cloth to wipe if needed.

You may send your photos to [email protected] or I can send you a dropbox link by using your email address provided at checkout or you may send me your email address in the note to seller section at checkout.
You may choose to send your photos in any online platform as well including Photobucket, Google Drive, Amazon Cloud, Whatsup app on Iphone, Facebook message. ~ I’m pretty flexible. Just let me know which way you will be sending your photos in the note to seller section at checkout and when you expect to send them so I know when I can begin.
Your photos
Photos – Please understand that your photo amount is an estimate! When I say a project will take a certain amount of photos, it is a good estimate. Everyone has different photos and different photo sizes. Some customers have all horizontal (portrait) photos, vertical (landscape) photos, panorama, square or a mix of all; so I am guessing how many photos I think you I will need. Please either label your photos from 1-20 (example) (most important to least important) or do not send photos that you do not wish to use on the project. If I need more photos I will ask for more but I may not use them all. Please note that certain photos (for example landscape or portrait photos) fit better in certain places.
Do you rush orders?
Yes! If you need an item sooner then the estimated turn around time provided (with the shipping information), it is appreciated if you purchase a rush order listing as well as the listing item. My rush order fee’s vary by the amount of effort an item takes to make so please choose the correct rush fee per item in the drop down menu of this listing:

How I Told David we were Expecting
I love hearing everybody else’s story of how they told their husbands they were expecting so I wanted to share mine too…
I am SUCH a night owl and David is an early riser and goes into work VERY early. I had taken one negative test a few days earlier and didn’t really expect a positive test. Before heading to bed late one night, I took a test and it was positive…. I thought. I wasn’t 100% sure and didn’t want to wake David up since he was going to be getting up at 5:00 a.m. so there was only one thing to do…. go to bed! Haha the next morning I bought 3 tests, came home and took them all, and they all lit up like a Christmas tree – yes yes and yes!
Since David was still at work I thought it would be fun to come up with something tangible to tell him. That way, I could always remember the moment. I’ve heard my friends tell stories of giving their husbands baby books, journals, and other gifts and think it’s such a fun way to share the news.
I remembered telling David years ago about a poem I had memorized to try out for a drama class in the 5th grade … “my daddy m.d.” – it hung in our powder room growing up. And when I mentioned it he said his dad had that same poem in his office! So I thought it would be fun to give him the poem as a gift and have it framed for the nursery.
He got home and before we headed to dinner I told him I had a gift for him for working so hard the last few months. He unwrapped the gift, read the poem, and then looked at me with the biggest reaction of happiness and shock because he knew exactly what it meant. “We’re expecting!” I said and he smiled so big and gave me the biggest hug ever. It was such a special moment in our den and I love looking at the framed poem and remembering his reaction.
Afterwards we headed to dinner where we both were still in shock and smiling the whole time. At my baby shower my mom gave me the original one that hung in our powder room growing up and now it’s hanging in baby Steele’s nursery:) here is the poem:
Whenever Daddy signs his name, he always writes, M.D.
So people all will know that he belongs to me.
For M.D. means My Daddy, or something just the same,
And that is why he always puts these letters with his name.
Some letters in his name are small, but these are not, you see…
He always makes them big like that cause he’s so proud of me!
